Hello, 

I'm Emily Morgan. I’ve always wanted to do it all. Since I was a small child, I’ve joined every club and chased every dream. I’ve loved reading and road trips and recipes; anything I can do or see or be. I am constantly finding something new to interest me and am always excited for the next project.

I've gone from full time Project Manager working in Dallas to living in the suburbs as a newly wed to working harder than ever as a stay at home mom. It has been a great journey so far and every time I think there's a moment to look back at how far I've come, it seems time just speeds up. So, in this brief pause in the chaos, I'm attempting to write some of it down.

For me reading, swiftly followed by writing, has always been like breathing. I've found that, both literally and metaphorically, I tend to hold my breath in times of stress. So in this moment of happiness, I'm returning to that which sustains me - the story. This story of women and motherhood and strength is one that I feel matters and will make an impact. And as I don't believe it's been written yet, I'm following Toni Morrison's advice and writing it.

My focus and energy here will be on the women in my life who’ve shaped my view of womanhood and motherhood. I look forward to sharing their stories and inspirational writing for southern women (and men). That being said, I gain energy from nurturing and seeing growth – in people, pets, my garden and myself. I care deeply for my friends and family and truly believe that food is love. You may see all of those things creep in from time to time, along with a plethora of book recommendations. Hence the name of this site. Because in my life, there's always an "and."
